Expectations
We are working as a team, the Suzuki Triangle! Student, Parent, and Teacher. Together we teach the student from a young age to develop into a respectful and contributing person.
- Students are expected to practice six days a week, shoot for seven and you’ll always get six! I encourage different lengths of practice depending on age, ability, and your desires for violin study. Discuss with me what practice time should look like for you or your student. Dr Suzuki famously said “only practice on the days you eat”
- The practice parent must attend each lesson and practice session each day with the student. This is between a 10-45 minute commitment depending on level. Students can begin practicing on their own around age 12. Until then, you and I are teaching them how to practice
Listening
- Listening to the Suzuki pieces is imperative for developing the ear and learning songs on the violin. I require listening to your current book daily
